Write in for the Red Cross

When Idahoans experience disasters such as house fires, wild fires, floods, or earthquakes, the American Red Cross of Greater Idaho responds to their immediate needs. All services are provided free of charge, through the Idaho Disaster Relief Fund. There is no government funding and the Red Cross of Greater Idaho depends solely on generous contributions from citizens across our state. Last year your Idaho Chapter provided aid for 247 disasters, helping more than 808 individuals recover from house and apartment fires, flooding, wild fires, and more. Right here in your community immediate emergency housing, food for the victims and relief workers, clothing and vital disaster emotional counseling were provided for your neighbors stricken by these disasters. Volunteers are usually on the scene of the disaster before the emergency responders leave.

The Write in For the Red Campaign is designed to allow Idaho Individual Income Tax filers to donate directly to the Idaho Red Cross Disaster Relief Services out of their tax refund. Individuals write in their donation amount on Line 40 of the Idaho Tax form.

The American Red Cross of Greater Idaho responds to family home fires, apartment fires, flash floods, mudslides, weather related road closures, wind storms and more almost every day in Idaho.

The American Red Cross plays a vital role in Homeland Security, Federal, State and local government disaster response plans. We receive no Federal, State or local government funding for our day to day operations. The Idaho Chapter is completely and totally dependent on the communities we serve for financial support.

Red Cross of Idaho provides the essentials of emergency assistance: food, clothing, shelter, emotional counseling and other basic relief services that assist in recovery from a disaster.

The American Red Cross assistance provided to individuals and families enables them to resume their normal daily activities as quickly as possible to get them on the road to recovery.

Our friends and neighbors in Idaho who will experience some of these unfortunate disasters in the coming year urgently need your help. Please be someone’s hero by donating to the Disaster Relief Fund on line 40 of the Idaho Individual Income Tax Form.

Thank you for your critical help!
